A grazing plan is a tool used to organize land, animals, budget, and time to achieve farming goals. Grazing plans are a dynamic approach that, over time, will help you meet your goals and adjust to changing conditions, which will allow you to achieve profitalibity and maintain ecological balance.

A grazing plan takes into account:

  • Animal inventory and dry matter demand
  • Paddock size and number
  • Time and logistics for your farm
  • Forage productivity and quality
  • Soil health and quality
  • Livestock health
  • Infrastructure including fencing, water systems, and lanes and crossings.

RNRCD is happy to assist in grazing planning, please reach out to andie@rnrcd.org for support.
